About ALCYCLIN 250 MG CAPSULE

TETRACYCLINE belongs to the 'antibiotics' class, primarily used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, intestines, eye, respiratory tract, urinary tract, genitals, lymph nodes, and other body systems. TETRACYCLINE is also used to treat acne and sexually transmitted diseases, such as syphilis, gonorrhoea, or chlamydia. Bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria grow in the body and causes illness. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly.

TETRACYCLINE contains 'Tetracycline' a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It works by preventing the synthesis of bacterial proteins, which are the primary cursors for carrying out bacteria's vital functions. This process further inhibits bacterial growth. TETRACYCLINE can also be used in combination with other anti-ulcer medications to treat certain types of stomach ulcers. When penicillin or other antibiotics do not work for infections like Anthrax (soil-borne infection affecting animals) and Listeria (infection due to contaminated food), TETRACYCLINE is used.
